Born and raised in Farr West, Utah, I currently reside in Salt Lake City. I studied botany and GIS at Weber State University in Ogden Utah. I received my bachelor of science in botany in 2006 with an emphasis in plant taxonomy and field botany.
While attending school I worked in a nursery that specialized in propagating and selling native and water-wise plants, as a biological technician/field botanist for the state of Utah where I became very familiar with the flora of Utah and the Great Basin and I currently am the curator for the botanical gardens in Salt Lake City, Utah where I have been since graduation in 2006.
I also work as a botanical consultant doing floristic and rare plant surveys for non-profit land conservation organizations and private land holders.
In my spare time I enjoy photography, hiking, collecting and identifying unknown plants.
